Accelerate Action – Empowering Women, amp-lifying Change

At amp, we harness the power of sound, storytelling, and meaningful action to inspire individuals and organizations to accelerate real change for women’s progress. This International Women’s Day, we’re championing the theme #AccelerateAction—encouraging everyone to challenge bias, celebrate success, and foster inclusive environments where every voice is heard and valued.

As part of our commitment, we’re spotlighting the incredible women on our team who are driving impact in their industries and beyond. To spark conversation and inspire action, we asked them three key questions:

  • What’s one way you actively support the advancement of women in your work, industry, and/or personal life?

  • What advice would you give to the next generation of women looking to break barriers in their careers?

  • How can the power of sound and branding be used to amplify women’s voices and stories?

Through their insights, experiences, and expertise, we hope to empower and uplift the next generation—reinforcing our dedication to a more inclusive and equitable future.

Karolina Namyslowski, Global Creative Director

What’s one way you actively support the advancement of women in your work, industry, and/or personal life?

From day one, I’ve had to carve my own path in an industry where leadership was—and often still is—male-dominated. As the first female leader in my company, I know what it takes to stay ahead, stay sharp, and never take a shift for granted. I actively push for women to be seen, heard, and recognized, whether that means mentoring colleagues, advocating for equal opportunities, or ensuring our creative work reflects a more inclusive perspective.

I make it a point to remind my female friends and colleagues of their value—to push for what interests them, speak up for what they deserve, and never downplay their contributions.  Leadership isn’t just about breaking barriers for yourself—it’s about keeping the door open for others to walk through.

What advice would you give to the next generation of women looking to break barriers in their careers?

Never wait for permission. You will have to be better, sharper, and faster to claim your space—but don’t let that discourage you. Use it as fuel. Own your expertise, speak up, and make sure your work speaks even louder. The reality is, you can’t just keep up—you have to stay ahead. Surround yourself with people who challenge you, support you, and push you forward.

How can the power of sound and branding be used to amplify women’s voices and stories?

Sound has the power to shape perception, to make people feel, and to give voice to those who have been unheard for too long. In branding, we can use sound to challenge stereotypes, to create space for diverse female narratives, and to ensure that women’s voices aren’t just included—they are central, powerful, and impossible to ignore.

Niki Gkonou, Audio Engineer

What’s one way you actively support the advancement of women in your work, industry, and/or personal life?

Both in my personal and professional life I support women in all aspects of their lives by consistently recognising their contributions, celebrating their successes and encouraging them to advocate for their rights during challenging times. Additionally, I am an active member of women-centered communities and organisations that are dedicated to empowering women and striving for gender equality.

What advice would you give to the next generation of women looking to break barriers in their careers?

Considering that in the audio industry only 18% are women audio engineers, I knew from the outset that my career path wouldn't be easy. However, being unwilling to conform to any stereotypes I managed to overcome challenges. Hence, that would be my advice; be determined and persistent, despite the obstacles! Focus on your skills, development and achievements -and first and foremost, be aware of them yourself. Keep your passion alive and invest in people who inspire and support you.

How can the power of sound and branding be used to amplify women’s voices and stories?

Sound, as a potent form of communication, has the power to change social dynamics, inspire beliefs and build movement. We must continue to leverage the power of sound branding to amplify women's voices and promote inclusion not just to create a greater impact on the world but also to foster systemic change.

Fernanda Rojas, UI/UX Designer

What’s one way you actively support the advancement of women in your work, industry, and/or personal life?

As an artist and designer, I mentor and collaborate with other women artists, sharing resources and opportunities, and I actively attend groups and events created by and for women to foster community and growth.

What advice would you give to the next generation of women looking to break barriers in their careers?

My advice is this: don’t settle for a career that doesn’t fulfill you. Revolutionize and reinvent yourself when necessary. As women, we often have to fight harder for equal treatment and power in the workplace, so never underestimate your strength and potential. Being a mother has taught me just how powerful and capable we are. We can balance multiple tasks at once, juggling family and a career, and still excel in both.

How can the power of sound and branding be used to amplify women’s voices and stories?

As a mother and an artist, I understand the power of being heard and having a supportive circle. Through sound and branding, we can share our stories to inspire and empower ourselves and others. By amplifying women’s voices, we break barriers, build connections, and create spaces where our journeys, both personal and professional, are celebrated. Sound has the ability to evoke emotion and motivate, reminding us that our voices matter and that we are not alone in our experiences.

Mary Kasoha, Project Manager- Growth & Engagement

What’s one way you actively support the advancement of women in your work, industry, and/or personal life?

#GirlsSupportGirls—but it shouldn’t stop there. I believe in creating opportunities that give women the visibility and growth they deserve, and that requires everyone—to challenge biases, break stigmas around female leadership, and actively work to change the narrative. Women bring immense value to leadership, and it’s time we not only acknowledge it but ensure they have the platforms and opportunities to thrive. Real progress happens when every action—big or small—toward this cause makes a lasting impact.

What advice would you give to the next generation of women looking to break barriers in their careers?

Push your boundaries, ask questions, and never stop learning. Growth happens when you lean into discomfort and take on challenges that might initially feel intimidating. Confidence isn’t about knowing everything—it’s about backing yourself even when you don’t. Remember: every barrier broken makes the path a little easier for the next woman to follow.

How can the power of sound and branding be used to amplify women’s voices and stories?

Sound has the power to shape emotions, shift perspectives, and bring stories to life. In branding, media, and storytelling, it’s not just about what is said—but how it’s heard. When used intentionally, sound can elevate women’s voices, ensuring their stories aren’t just told, but truly felt and remembered. The right sound can break barriers, challenge stereotypes, and create space for more authentic female narratives. Representation isn’t just about visibility—it’s about being heard in a way that resonates and drives change.

I am committed to promoting fair representation by fostering diverse voices in design projects and ensuring that women’s perspectives are recognized and valued in creative decisions. I also actively support professional women in the industry by engaging with their work—purchasing their products, following their pages, and helping to amplify their contributions.

What advice would you give to the next generation of women looking to break barriers in their careers?

Stay focused on your goals and do not let negativity deter you. It’s crucial to remain open to learning, as knowledge and empathy will not only shape your work but also strengthen your relationships with those around you. Approach challenges with compassion and resilience, knowing that every experience contributes to your growth and success.

How can the power of sound and branding be used to amplify women’s voices and stories?

In graphic design and branding, sound can shape perception, evoke emotions, and make messages more memorable. Therefore, we can strategically integrate audio elements that enhance visibility, impact, and recognition for women-led brands and stories.

Happy International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month! It’s one of my favorite months of the year, filled with empowering and impactful content that inspires me and many of us for the year ahead. Every day is a day to celebrate the amazingness of women.

What’s one way you actively support the advancement of women in your work, industry, and/or personal life?

I love to give advice, provide guidance, and empower. As a woman of color, I know what it’s like to be the only one in the room, and that experience has fueled my commitment to accelerating action for meaningful change. When I started in the music industry 18 years ago this month, there were few female role models or diverse organizations offering support (I'm glad to see that is different these days), which at times made it feel isolating. So, I sought out my own mentors, some of whom were men, who championed me and showed me what true leadership looks like. Remember, allies are just as meaningful and important in this journey.

Because I didn’t always have the support I needed, I’ve made it my mission to ensure others do. Throughout my career, I’ve been intentional about uplifting, supporting, and empowering women by breaking barriers, amplifying diverse voices, providing resources, and creating opportunities for the next generation - for me, this is a must! Creating opportunities, such as this feature, where women’s voices and experiences are heard, is meaningful, important, and inspiring to others. Whether through mentorship, advocating for representation, or ensuring that women’s perspectives are prioritized, I strive to accelerate action and push for meaningful progress.

In my role as Director of Marketing and Communications at amp, I’m committed to advocating for diverse voices and ensuring that all perspectives are not just included but prioritized in the work we do across multiple verticals. In this outward-facing role and my personal life, I don’t just open doors; I actively hold them open for those coming behind me because real change happens when we turn conversations into action. I want to change the narrative for the next generation so they don’t have to prove themselves over and over again. We are enough.

What advice would you give to the next generation of women looking to break barriers in their careers?

Some key advice for my fellow women in business...

  • Stay true to you - Don’t compromise who you are to fit in; your authenticity is your strength.

  • Find role models and ask questions - You’d be surprised how many people are willing to help, guide, and mentor you; you just have to reach out. Some of the people who guided me the most were people I looked up to and aspired to be like, and I am lucky enough to call them friends and peers today.

  • Be fearless in advocating for yourself and knowing your worth - If you don’t believe in yourself, who will? Own your expertise. Confidence is contagious; when you own your worth, others will start to recognize it too.

  • Pay it forward & speak up - Take up space and challenge the status quo. Surround yourself with mentors and allies who believe in your potential, but also pay it forward by supporting and uplifting other women. Success isn’t just about reaching the top; it’s about holding the door open for those coming behind you. Speak up for yourself and for others who may not feel they have a voice.

  • A seat at the table - If you can’t get one, create your own table. Like-minded people will come!

How can the power of sound and branding be used to amplify women’s voices and stories?

In the world of sound and branding, representation and inclusion matter; people want to see and hear themselves reflected in the stories being told. Sound has the power to create deep emotional connections, shape perceptions, and drive change. When we amplify women’s voices, both literally and figuratively, we don’t just make noise; we inspire and make an impact!

Whether it’s through the strategic use of women's voices in branding, music that empowers, or sonic storytelling that brings diverse experiences to life, sound can elevate women’s narratives in powerful ways. Now is the time to amplify this influence, challenge stereotypes, carve out space for new voices, and ensure that women’s contributions are not just heard but truly recognized, remembered, and empowered.
